i dont want to run the 400 if it will slow down my 100 meter time by giving me more endurance but i just thought i might do it for fun if it would help me with my 100 and 200m.

  1. i run the 400m as my main race...

i do not really train hardcore for the 100m... but i can still run 10.95 for the 100m, and 47.79 for the 400m.

  2. it will make you stronger running 400s which will ultimitally improve your 200m and 100m time. but you also have to focus on form for all events. they all have different techinques

  3. it just depends. I am a 400 runner, that is my event. But my 100 meter time sucks. I couldnt get anywhere with my 100 meter time. I'm decent in the 200, i could definatly say that the 400 has helped my 200 and vice versa. my 400 time is around a 59 second, with my 200 time at a 27.5. But i have seen girls that have been good at all three events and will say that each one helps the other, so it just depends on the runner.

  4. It will improve your strength and stress endurance, but probably won't improve your 100 times.

It will help with your 200.

You will need to continue to do speed work and starts to get better at the 100.

  5. This is a difficult question that you will most likely have to answer for yourself. The 400 could make your 100 faster or slower depending on how you train for the 400. Most of the time coaches will toss in a lot of 500 and 600 meter repeats and even some 800 repeats for their 400 meter runners and that is not something that will help your 100.

To be a good 400 and 100 runner, you will need to focus on the 200 believe it or not. To be a good 200 runner you have to do lots of 400 and 100 repeats and that won't hurt your 100 at all. Just make sure you don't put to much distance into your training for the 400 or you could start to lose your fast twitch muscles.

The 400 is a great race, it is very challenging and it is also challenging to train for. Some runners treat it as a sprinting event and some treat it as mid distance. Usually you will find that older coaches tend to treat it as mid distance and younger coaches treat it as a sprint. What ever you do, don't treat it as a mid distance event. Good luck

  6. THis wil make you a stronger runner. It will help your time
