I need to set up a BT line & the minimum line rental for the phone is 10.50 a month. at the same time i want to start tiscali broadband & landline for 15 pounds a month. usually tiscali will cancel my bt line rental for me and swap it over, but i was wondering will they do that if i start up both at the same time. i guess bt wants to charge me 10.50 straight away?

  1. No, If tiscali take over, then they will bill you from that point.

If you are on BT for a week, then change to Tiscali - BT will bill you for a week, and Tiscali for 3 weeks.

If BT take 1 months, they will refund you any unused line rental.

Do you really want Tiscali? - best to google the reviews as they have terrible customer service.

I know tiscali is cheap, but you do get what you pay for in the telecoms/broadband world!

  2. NOODLES,

YOU CAN'T HAVE THE CAKE AND EAT IT TOO??

  3. Check with BT if they have a minimum contract. I think they do but I'm pretty sure you can "buy out" of it with a cancellation fee.

Incidentally, I would avoid tiscali. They will stick to their minimum contract so once you start receiving their appalling service you're stuck with it for 18 months.
