  1. Yes, it will help you to learn snowboarding.

The basic concepts are generally the same. Balencing on a board, shifting your weight, popping off the tail when jumping, spinning, etc.

This is why so many good snowboarders are decent skaters and so many good skaters are decent snowboarders.

When I bring people who are good at skateboarding up to the mountain, they pick up snowboarding really fast. People who are good at skating also are usually good at spinning.

Skaters are also used to the idea of consequences, and are gutsy. This is one of the hardest things to gain in snowboarding. Getting yourself to huck off a 40 foot tabletop and spin at the same time.

Skaters generally do great snowboarding (assuming you are a good skater).

  2. Be ready to spend the first few days on your butt. After you finally get the hang of it, it will be very easy. Because you skateboard it will probably be easier for you to get the hand of it.

  3. My sister had been a skateboarder for about 1-2years and then she tried snowboarding instead of skiing one day and she was OK on the FIRST day.....my advice-dont worry and just try and do your best oh! and of course HAVE FUN!!!!!!!!!!!!
