Definitely not! The other way round yes (Italians are better learners). Spaniards are, sorry to say, lazy, stubborn...

Additionally, don't even try to use an Italian word if you don't know its meaning in Spanish, otherwise you might end up in some hazzle. Remember that joke: A non-Spanish speaking person sits in a restaurant, he wants some more butter, he therefore shouts to the waiter: "Burro, burro, por favor!" He's just called the waiter a donkey...:-)

So many similarities, yet so many differences.

I've been living in Spain for the past year and learnt Italian for 10 years whilst I was at school.  A lot of Spanish and Italian adjectives are similar, less nouns, but some.  Very few verbs are similar yet verbs are structured in a similar way, as are sentences.  Numbers are practically identical.  Italian pronunciation is much more exaggerated and flamboyant that Spanish.

In my opinion it would be pointless to speak Italian to a Spanish person, but when you are stuck for Spanish words you can use Italian ones with  some success and the Spanish people will correct you.  I often find if I don't know the Spanish word, I say the English word how I think it would be in Spanish and it is correct.  A lot of Spanish people I know speak a bit of French too, so try that for missing words if you can speak any.

Yes, Spanish & Italian are very similar in some ways. It is very easy for an Italian or Spaniard to learn each others language.

Example; Twenty four in Spanish is "veinte cuatro" but in Italian it is"venti quattro". It is spoken exactly the same, however the spelling is different.

It actually depends in which part of Spain you're going to. You might be able to pull it off in some areas where they actually speak spanish but Spain has like 9879876354654564 dialects! For example, in Barcelona they speak Catalan and so if you're a tourist some locals would just rather converse in English.

So yeah, try it! It just depends.

Tried serval times  to speak Spanish to Italian and the always told me not to understand, but strange is, that even Spanish is not my native language I understand most of this what Italian are saying

Let me put it to you this way....do you understand German?  Without having studied it?  

Same relationship.  If you know Spanish, you do NOT know Italian, or vice versa...you might be able to pick out a word here or there, more likely in writing, but they are not mutually understandable.

it is very similar, its like portuguese. some words are absolutley different and some are almost the same

Yes with a little trial and error, it can be done. There are similar words that can get the message through. The same holds true for Portugal, although just a tad more difficult.
