  1. yes, it would, especially if you dont do a lot of fly often

  2. You shouldn't have your arms locked straight. Keep your elbows high and you shouldn't feel it.

  3. If you did something out of the ordinary in your stroke for an extended period, you can get sore where you normally do not. Or not -- muscle soreness is a mysterious thing. But just because your muscles are sore doesn't automatically mean tendon damage. Tendon issues usually don't crop up unless you've repeatedly damaged (and shortened) a muscle, or if the tendons are not seating correctly in the joints.

Poke around the sore muscle a little, and find the most tender part. Move down in both directions to where you'd guess the muscle connection points are. If the most tender parts are in the body of the muscle (and not so much at the shoulder, elbow, or wrist) -- relax. Take some Motrin and ice the area for 20 minutes. The soreness will subside in a day or two.

If you are tender at the joints, you are right to be concerned. Go see a physical therapist that specializes in sports medicine.

  4. it very well could just be sore from using the muscle. sometimes when you over use the muscle your muscle will be sore for a few days. it should be better in the next two days. if it's not than i'd consult with a doctor.
