Maybe.  Your camera might require you to format, and that will definitely delete your pictures.  At the very least, it might make it glitchy.  I'd load them onto a computer or storage device first, just to make sure.

If the camera is the same model chances are good that they won't get deleted. If it is a different type of camera chances are good that they will be deleted.

When formatting a card digital cameras put several folders on the card which they need to correctly store pics. These folders often have different names with different manufacturers. When inserting the card the camera looks for those folders and if it does not find them it will ask to format the card. Formatting the card results in losing all the data stored on it.

So downlaod your pics to your computer before you change the card into a different camera.
