If i take ninjitsu or hapkido for three months will i learn any techniques to defend against punches?

  1. Ok. The second part (Throwing/joint manipulation)? Yes. Both arts train HEAVILY in those from the get go.

    You will learn some basic defense techniques against punches, and progress with them. Being able to use them in sparring, however, would depend on the school. I would assume Bujinkan would be the same, but I don't know.


  2. Well, I'm guessing that you're not in Japan.  So real Ninjitsu is out.  It sounds like you should look into Aikido based on your wanting to learn throwing and joint manipulation.
