  1. Since chocolate frosting is made with cocoa powder, which is brown, I don't think you can really tint it too much.  Sure, darker colors, maybe, but pink?  I don't think so.  You'd have to add so much pink coloring to the frosting, it'd probably taste more like "food coloring" rather than chocolate frosting.

If you could find something like a chocolate flavored essential oil, which are usually colorless, then you could probably make a pink colored, chocolate flavored frosting.

  2. I think that you would need to use a lot of food coloring if you are wanting the results you specified. I am not a baker though, you might not want to take my opinion! :o)

  3. Adding food coloring to chocolate frosting will not show.  I suggest using a white chocolate frosting which will show the color you desire to have.  Another suggestion is to use pink sprinkles or accent frostings over the chocolate frosting if you don't care for the taste of white chocolate.  Accent frostings generally have no taste to speak of so you will just have the taste of chocolate.

  4. your results will likely not be great tinting chocolate frosting. The colour will just mix with the brown and any colour turn out just different shades of brown.

  5. No... it will stay brown, but you might see a hint of the colour you added if you added enough.

You could use a white chocolate or vanilla and mix the colour into that, but if you mix it into a brown chocolate, it will stay brown. It will NOT get lighter, no matter how much colour you add.

  6. no it will be brown with barely a tint of the added color

  7. I dont think it will show up pink if you add food color unless you use white chocoalte frosing. Or better yet make white frosting with chocolate flavoring instead of vanilla and then tint the frosting.
