If i took up residence on an uninhabited island in international waters would anyone be able to tell me to?

  1. Any island regardless of where it is, will have some country or other laying claim to that island and consequently having 'territorial waters' round it.

    As to someone making you leave, I doubt it, as if the island was "uninhabited" it would probably also mean that it was "uninhabitable" and therefore that would mean that you would leave of your own accord sooner or later.


  2. Depends on if anyone has established property ownership of the island.  You have some old abandoned military bases out there in the ocean left over from WW2 - I'm thinking the military might not want you staying there, but I could be wrong.  If ownership of the island has not been established, then, No - nobody would tell you to leave.  Course, you'd have no electricity, toilets, grocery store - you'll want to go very prepared if you try to do this.
