Just use an online travel agency website like expedia or travelocity, or your local airlines website, you can get select from a wide variety of depterature times and will tell you the subsequent arrival times.

Generally what everyone else said - Monday.  But it also depends on the time you depart.

Say you depart early on MONDAY say... about 1AM in the morning from Sydney. You will arrive on Sunday in California.

If you really want to know... try to book a flight from Sydney to LA (not go to the payment yet, of course) but the booking site will tell you departure time AND arriving time - which will be LOCAL time. You can then see which day and what time you get there.
