What type is it? If it's like a heat protectant shampoo then yes but if not then make sure to buy a heat protectant spray! :)

She GAVE you the shampoo, or SOLD it to you??  Don't always trust the words of someone trying to sell you something.

Protect your beautiful mane - don't straighten everyday.  It is too damaging.
