no. But the trick is shower with cold water after tanning to bring the darkness out quicker and allow it to set in.

No, tan doesn't wash off.  It's your skin's internal protection mechanism, where the cells release extra amounts of pigment.  The color is inside the cells, and can't possibly wash off.

The only reason why it would go away is that your skin senses that it no longer needs protection.  The more efficient your skin is, the faster you'll tan, and the faster it'll go away.

All tans are temporary, but it's not the type of temporary that goes away with a shower.
