If i use xbox live can it give my computer a virus?

I want to use xbox live but my dad says I cant because it will give my computer a virus. Is this true? If it isnt can you tell me why, because i need to prove this to him.

No you cannot get any viruses from Xbox Live because people can't upload viruses Xbox Live. The only people that can upload things are Microsoft themselves so your system is safe.

it cant, because your xbox is only connected to the internet to let you play with other people and download content from microsoft and sometimes other players.

first of all, everything you download goes to the xbox and not to the computer.

second, even if the items you downloaded went to the computer, microsoft doesnt make programs with viruses. there is some content that can be downloaded from other players (halo 3 videos and pictures), but there is no freedom as to what type of file this person can create, they can only create video or picture files and send them to people. its not like in halo 3 you can make a virus and then send it to people.
