  1. I don't see why not, as long as you get documentation of your work at the hospital.  It seems completely appropriate as a community service or extracurricular activity.  Why should it matter if it was done after school or on weekends or during school vacation?  However, I would certainly check with your school (teacher, guidance counselor, academic advisor) to make sure you will get credit for your work, and what type of documentation you would need.

  2. I would certainly think so.  Ask to keep a time sheet that is signed by the person in charge of your schedule.  Thank you for being a caring person.

  3. I'm not sure what you are using this information for, but in college applications, volunteering in a hospital is considered community service, rather than an extracurricular activity.

    College applications have both categories.

Extracurricular activities would include any "school related" activities, like sports, clubs, academic competitions, plays, etc.

If you are using this information for something other than a college application, I suggest you go to the source, whoever you are turning this information in to, and ask them directly if this is extracurricular.

My best.  Hope this helps, Teresa
