I know in MA, u can drive family as soon as u get ur licence but friends u have to wait 6mo.

Depends where you live.  Here in Texas you can drive up to one passenger who is not family.  After having your license for 6 months all restrictions end.  Your brother is obviously family though.  No matter where you are I think that would be fine.
