  1. 1. DO NOT buy from petsmart. their beardies are undersize to be selling and are too skinny.

    2. buy from a pro breeder. i got mine from CHill Reptiles. look them up in your phonebook they r great.

  2. Well,if you get both the cost is already $140 but, with the cage and the food it will probably be around almost $165 hope this helps

  3. well i live in the uk so cant help you with prices but heres a list of stuff you need

vivarium minimum 36inches long for ONE dragon

    uvb light

starter unit to power the uvb light

heat/basking bulb i use 100w but its colder here

a nice log or two for it to climb on

water bowl for it to soak in, they dont tend to drink so you need to bathe them most days

thermostat to keep the temp constant, around 100f in the basking area, with a cooler area so it can go and cool down if it needs too

    livefoods like locusts or crickets

    veggies, like collared greens

if you choose to get two it must be females as males will fight. they are great pets and i just have one and he is very friendly. if you get a baby dont put any substrate in the viv as they can ingest it and this will kill them, i just use paper towel. as a baby it will eat mostly livefoods but try giving it greens aswell, as it gets older it will eat less livefood and more greens, some people use washed playsand as a substrate when the dragon gets over 6 inches. the uvb light must be no more than 8 inches from the floor so the dragon gets the benefit of it. get some pure calcium powder for dusting the food and some multivitamins powder for dusting once a week. you need to use a thermostat else the temps may get too hot/cold and this is not good, dragons like a constant temp. habistat do a great dimming thermostat. phew think i have covered most things, feel free to pm me if you have anymore questions

  4. You need a 40-gallon habitat, as they will get very large very quickly.  You also need a good basking light fixture and UVA & UVB bulb.  Also some climbing "furniture" such as cholla or other wood.  A hide like a half-log, food and water dishes, calcium and vitamin powder, and some staple food.  You're looking at at least $150 unless you can find some stuff on Craigslist or Freecycle (we get all sorts of equipment that way).

I would NOT purchase a beardie at PetSmart or PetCo.  Go with a good breeder.  My friends recently brought us a baby at a reptile expo in Indianapolis.  She was 10 weeks and only $30 and extremely healthy and beautiful.

I wouldn't house two beardies together unless you're certain they are not males.  They can fight and really hurt each other such as ripping off toes, biting causing scars, etc.
