freshmen never cheered before but i want to be a cheerleader or on a dance squad.

  1. yeah you should definetly practice new cheers and dancing at home before the tryouts.! running helps to keep your body in shape and a healthy diet to it .cheerleaders have to be skinny.

  3. definately do different stretches to work on flexibility so that your jumps and kicks will be high and nice. work on jumps like toe touches and pikes. if you know and cheers that the team does just practice those so you can have those perfected. and remeber to alllllways point your toes when doing jumps, kicks, etc.

    The first thing you need to do is find out what the skill requirements are for those teams. If they expect you to have some very high level technical skills you may have a problem. But in the meantime start working out and practicing on your skills, just in case.
