If i want to become a pro snow boarder , and want to go to the x games what should i do?

I have always had a dream to become a famous snow boarder and to snow board in the winter x games , but i just wanted to know what i should do ,and how do i get to make my dreams come true?

for starters, buy a season pass to your nearest hill. Work on small tricks before even considering the bigger ones, and be comfortable pulling them with either of your feet leading.

skiing and snowboarding are one of those sports that if you don't learn early...and you don't excel early...its nearly impossible to go the olympics or x games.

take me for example...i started skiing when i was 4 and was recruited by the u.s. ski team when i was 8. for 4 years, i competed. at that point, i had to decide, was i going to go out west every weekend (at my expense) for competitions and training. well it didn;t really matter what i decided because at that time, my twin brother, who was also the same level as me, was diagnosed with cancer...and i decided to stop skiing until he could...he survived but it took 3 years off our skiing. so when we got back onto the slopes at 15 1/2...we were told that we no longer had a chance of ever making it to any national or international competitions. for the 3 years that we stopped, other poeple our age were getting much better.

so to answer your question...if you are 10 or younger, and already have lots of experience in snowboarding...you still have a chance...but you will have to make sacrifices...get your parents to send you to a snowboarding academy...which many mountains offer...basically you ski half the day and have lessons the other half...almost no social interactions with other kids our age.

the reason you have to do this...or something similar is because one you need practice. and two, you need to be competing...the only way you can even try out for the x games is if you did well in other competitions before that...

and if you are older than 10 and don't even have experience, sorry to burst your bubble, but your chance of ever making it to the x games is over...
