If i want to go into the airforce , does the asvab score determing my job?

If i score idk average on the test do i have say in what job i do?

  1. Yes it can - certain jobs require certain ASVAB scores.

    Example if you wanted to be an electronics technician but scored low in the electronics battery, you probably would not qualify for any job in that MOS.


  2. Yes it does. What the ASVAB does is place you in a certain category according to score. In this category are certain career fields.

    Have you taken the ASVAB already? If not I recommend going to a bookstore and buying the book on the ASVAB Test. I don't recommend the one for dummies.

    MOS is the army terminology for the Air Force AFSC or career field. If you haven't taken it you can take practice test at the link below.

    Since this has to do with your career and your future the best advice I can give you is to go in and talk with a recruiter. Discuss what options your ASVAB Score gives you as far as career fields. Choose the one that suits you best.

    The recruiter may try to get you take another career field. That is the one they need the most. Stick to the one you want.
