  1. Biological Sciences Department is a good place to start. They do not have an agriculture program so here is what to do.

I'm guessing your going to start your freshman year. If you want an Associates Degree ONLY, then your at the wrong school. You are probably going for your B.A. or B.S. so you have to get your core requirements out of the way. Work on your Associates (A.A. of A.S.) in Liberal Arts and get all your core requirements done and fill up your schedule with the chemistry (to organic chem), math (to pre-calc), biology, earth sciences, botany, etc. ALL CLASSES MUST BE TRANSFERABLE to avoid wasting time and redoing a class. Find out what school(s) have the agricultural degree program you wish to get into and take the courses they will require to fulfill the program requirements.

I got my A.S. at a community college and that is a great place to get things like CHEM 1 and 2 done, with a small class and access to Professors, not in a university with classes that number 200 students in a big hall and all you have are teaching assistants who don't speak your language well. That is a terrible STRESS NIGHTMARE AAAARRRRGGGGG!!!

When I got my A.S. I then went to a good agriculture university (UMASS Amherst) and had the real meat of the courses and got into a graduate research program as an undergraduate no less! It was very very cool and doing it that way saved big $$$. Have fun and good luck.
