  1. You have to train about 6 hours a day. Two hours brazilian jujitsu two hours boxing/kickboxing and two hours gymwork, to maintain high level of fitness. 5 days a week. Thats just off season when you are preparing for a fight you have to put in more hours.  If you dont put in the hours you will lose very quickly in the cage. You have to learn every possible move in jujitsu so you dont get caught in a lock. Your stikes have to be fast and accurate. You will get to a point where you are tired and sick and cant hack it but this is just a peak point where you have to keep pushing and pushing. The more hours you spend in the gym the easier the fight. The saying train hard fight easy is a true one

  2. Don't  let anyone discourage you! No one ever told Michael Jordan or Tiger how great they would be, but Im sure they heard plenty of how they could fail. You never know how good you will be until you try.  Wrestlings a definite plus, MMA has gone almost exclusively Brazilian Jiu Jitsu which is less like jiu jitsu and more like Judo. Also especially at your size ( unless you can cut 91lbs) you need BOXING and a lot of it! Not a lot of heavyweight fights go to the ground they're almost all stricker's (Boxer/Kickboxers) And get in Shape!!! The UFC heavyweight champ right now is Randy Couture he's in his 40's, but he's in unbelievable shape, he's a retired Army Sergeant. He's also fought in Light Heavy so his weight at heavyweight is about 220. Go find a gym where you can spar and see if you can fight! Don't quit!

  3. Wow your standards are SERIOUSLY lowww. Kimbo??? LOL

Anyway, look for some BJJ gyms in your area. Use Yahoo! Local. Have you already found a gym? Then GO! Don't ask us!  Have fun!

  4. first of all kimbo slice is not the one you want to emulate if you dream is to be an MMA fighter. You want to be well rounded..Keep wrestling, most MMA bigshots  have a strong wrestling background. Find a Jiu Jitsu school and learn the ground game..mabye boxing and kickboxing. Whatever you like.......Look at someone like Jon Fitch/Gray Maynard to pattern your transition from wrestling to MMA.........Or just find a local MMA gym and do it all there.........

  5. You'll like it.  If your spring two-a-days just ended, you might as well start now while your body's tempo is on high.  Keep a positive attitude - nobody is good in the beginning, nobody.  If you haven't picked a school yet, http://www.sherdog.com has some good links to help you pick good schools.

  6. Learn white eyebrow. In california their is a school that teaches the short fist known as white eyebrow and the guy who runs the school is rather feared in the mma circuit. Its one of the few "undefeated" schools in chinese martial arts and abroad and has not only apps in the ring but on the street to, also jujistsu and muai thai, but I found a site a couple days ago where you can get the white eyebrow vcd as a download for 3 bucks (its usualy a mail order that costs about 10)

  7. get into mauy thai you'll love it if you play football and wrestle

  8. Holy c**p, you're a big guy.  Good, I hope you do get into it.  Tim Silvia needs someone to look up to.

But I agree that Kimbo isn't a good idol.  He's a tough fighter, but what would really make you legit is to combine his ferocity and striking power with a solid ground game.

Go to an MMA camp in your area, or even move to one after HS.  Keep wrestling and learn some boxing.  the MMA camp will fill in the submissions and teach you some basic kicks.
