Question:

If i wanted to move to austrailia for a year what do i need to do?

i have wanted to visit there for a while now and now seems to be the time in my life to get it done. i would assume i would need to file for a temporary visa. but other that that i have no idea. anyone have any ideas? on where i should get started. thanks in advance

  1. Its so expensive to live here. So make sure you can pay out atleast $200 a week for rent.

  3. So you are a tourists ! Do you have any contacts in Australia who are willing to sponsor you ? Then only possible to pay to pay for your living and touring expenses !

As an American citizen,  it is very difficult to spend that much time in Australia.   You may go as a tourist for 3 months for sure, and sometimes you can get an extension for longer. you cannot work without a work visa, and these are very hard to get. See site below also for inf.  There is no "working holiday" program for Americans.

  5. first and for most it depends on what country you are residing in now and how old you are. Australia has agreements with a number of countries, in Europe and with Canada that allows people under the age of 30(i think) to travel and work here on a 1 year visa.

    It is fair to say that Australia is more expensive than the US but then again it is all relative to the average wage. Which is much much higher. People tend to forget that when making comparisons.
