Does it cost anything to trade titiles? how do we do that legally ?

In Florida, it costs about 35 bucks to transfer a title. Sign them over to each other at the tag office, explain you are trading up right. But make sure you call the insurance companies first and insure them in your own name prior to the tag office. They WILL want proof of insurance.

you sign over the title to your friend and they sign theirs and the dmv will probably just charge a small re register fee to each vehicle
