  1. at this point the bird needs all the friends he can get.

  2. I admire you for your courage.  Please tell the zoo people, the newspaper and the police what you saw.  You keep saying you're just a kid, but it's kids like you that are going to make a difference in this world.  Please speak up and save the life of the bird.  Remember what happened at the San Francisco Zoo when drunk guys taunted the tiger and she attacked?  It was the poor tiger who got killed because there was no one to defend her.  I think everyone here supports you so go and do what you have to do.   The peacock is counting on you.  And so are we.

  3. You have an IP address attached to your email but like someone said, media can keep sources anonymous.  The zoo needs to know the bird was being taunted.  It could mean his life.  Go ahead and tell.

  4. Here's the deal:  there is an innocent peacock facing serious charges (probably be put down or something), a Zoo facing serious charges (allowed a visitor to be attacked) and please dont forget, zookeepers become very attached to their animals.  Imagine if one of your pets were destroyed because of someone else's stupidity.  Now I'm quite biased on this matter because I won't even let my wife say mean things to a cockroach, let alone stand on one, but if you love animals as much as I do, you would stop thinking about your own shyness, and speak on behalf of the one who can't speak for himself.  It's only right in my opinion.

And who knows, if you step forward, others will probably follow, then the boy's parents will be outnumbered by witnesses.  I think your best chance would be to get the newspaper on your side, because other witnesses will want to join in on the action.

  5. A journalist does not have to reveil their source.  So you are safe.
