If i was in a car wreck could i get a settlement for emotional distress?

My friend was in a car wreck and recieved several thousand dollars for 'emotional distress.' I know it's possible, but I'm not sure how you go about it.

It's called General Damages or Pain/Suffering and it's minimal without an actual injury

probably not unless you saw something horrific happen to an immediate family member or very long family friend, and even then there are cases in which it is not deemed valid and not awarded in court.

You would have to get the help of an accident attorney. It's not something you can do on your own. Of course, you'll have to pay the lawyer, but maybe he'll work on contingency.
