If i was to go to ireland jan 12 thru 22 what would you suggest i do there?

See all of the country. Not just Dublin. South of Dublin is beautiful if you're planning on arriving in Dublin Airport, but if you can, Shannon or Knock airport are located in much more scenic areas (Clare and Mayo, respectively), and will bring you right into the countryside. I'm from East Galway, and can honestly tell you that West Galway (Connemara) is very much unspoiled, with the picturesque Kylemore Abbey, and parts of Roundstone.

Two words: Ashford Castle.

Cork, Tipperary and Kerry are much more tourist-orientated, but equally beautiful. Cork has a good mix of urban and rural living, and places like Cobh are totally underestimated as a holiday location.

Donegal is also breathtaking, particularly the beaches. Generally, the entire West Coast is excellent for beaches and aquatic-sports, taking full advantage of the Atlantic. If you're into this, try Killary in north Galway or the UL sports centre in Killaloe.

If you're looking for the a city-break, then Dublin is the only way to go. You'll find a good mix of touristy-stuff, pubs, night-clubs, and Dundrum is a brilliant, if pricy, shopping centre. Just hop on a Luas, and it'll take you direct. You should probably look for a store directory and map once you enter, though! If shoppingcentres aren't your thing, Grafton and Henry St. will have you covered.

If this is a historical venture, then don't consider anywhere but Meath: 5,200 years of well-preserved history.

And if you're coming for the Guinness, then the Guinness Storehouse is a must.

Go to a pub, have a pint of bitters.

Buy a real Iirsh Item, like crystal, wool hand made scarfs and sweaters.
