  1. No

It is kinda of weird and first of all it wont fit your neck

  2. they could use it to help id your body if you died but that is about it. the army uses them to id bodies. if you are asking if you could use it as id to prove who you are then no. i wear my husbands dog tags while he is deployed and i could never try and use them to prove anything. the only thing you can use as an id is a state issued or government issued id.

  3. haha... Why not give it a bash n see how it turns out :)

  4. No, because you could have got it anywhere and put anything on it. if you were to obtain it from the millitary or other armed forces it would be used for that, yes, but for everything else no, you need somthing such as a passport or drivers liscence as these are checked and confirmed

  5. no. first off it does not have your picture on it and you could have got it anywhere.

  6. If you mean, could I use it as a substitute for a form of ID card, then the answer is no.

That's becasue possession of your dog tag proves nothing other than the fact you have it.

I could buy a dog-tag of the militaria sites on Ebay for a few pounds.  What does that prove?

If you're doubtful, try flashing it as you board an aircraft and see what response you get.

  7. Only for recognition during a war, or when you're drunk and have to find mummy, muppet!!

  8. Yes, these are officially what they're used for, whether you're military or civilian.

I know many people who have their name, DOB and blood type on dog tags.
