  1. it depends on the brand...hope this helps...XD

  2. Typically 1 - 2 sizes smaller than your shoe size.  I wear size 8 shoes and size 6½ skates.  Former NHLer Paul Coffey used to wear skates so small he had to curl his toes under to get the skates on.  You probably don't want to go that small put your toes should touch when you try on skates.

If you have wide feet, try CCM.

  3. IT DEPENDS WAT BRAND

  4. I was a size 14 shoe and I wore a size 12-13 skate depending on the brand. 13 in Nike/Bauer, and usually a 12 in CCM. You will need to try them on, they fit differently depending on the width of your foot and the shape of your arch. Good luck, Welcome to the greatest sport on earth.

  5. I would try many on and see what one gives the most support and comfort

  6. Ignore Carolina talking about if your foot will grow or not. Unlike shoes, you should never buy skates with room to grow into. If you do, they'll feel like h**l and cause blisters. And as they break in they'll mold to your feet making them uncomfortable once you do grow into them.

Mission is true to shoe size, so they're just 14. Other brands tend to run about a size to a size and a half smaller. Due to differences in the company's foot molds, you need to go to a store and try on skates to determine which one will fit you best. For example, I have a low arch and Easton fits me really well.

And when you do buy them, have them baked. Skates today have resins in them that can be melted and reshaped to customized the fit to your foot, which will make it a much better fit and shorten the break in time dramatically. They can do that at the pro shop for you.

  7. if you dont think your going to grow anymore go with an 11.5 i have the same size foot and if you wont grow anymore you want your toes to just barely feel the end of the skate that way your toe  of the blade on a skate to big wont drag on the on ice or you wont be able to get over your toes to accelerate, but it all depends on if your going to grow or not.

  8. I'm a size 8 and wear a mens size 5 in CCM. (that may be a boys size actually....)

you really need to try the skates on though, when i was buying mine each style had a minor difference in the fit and shape.

good luck! I have been only playing for about a year now and play with all guys so its a bit interesting. you will def have fun!

  9. I estimate 13 in Mission and 12 or 12 1/2 in other brands (CCM, Bauer, Easton, Tour) but be sure you try them on first. There are different widths out there.

I typically wear a CCM skate about 2 sizes smaller than my shoe.

  10. Typically it is 1 1/2 sizes smaller than your shoe size.  But the best thing for you to do is try on different skates within that size range to find out what is most comfortable for you.
