Jumping off a bridge doesn't make a loud enough sound for even most nearby folks to hear it.

It's the landing that creates the vibrations that are the source of sound, and the vibrations would still be there.

The nerves/hairs in our ears translates the vibrations into sound, so if no one, including animals, were around, there would be no sound.  (I think)
