If i were to live in santo domingo?

Wolud i be stigmatized, because i am a black Jamaican-American?

ps. im about as dark as Will Smith.

To live in Santo Domingo ? Great ! I lived there for 8 years, then moved to the north. There is absolutely no problem to live there, generally the people are OK. Just make a good choice about the part of town you want to live and try to learn Spanish this is very help-full. Enjoy it!

No I don't think so.  There are even a lot of white Americans who are married to black and brown skinned people from the D.R.

I lived there for about a year, on Avenue Independencia and really liked it... but then, I had been in Haiti for 2 years before moving to the D.R. so that isn't much of a recommendation

no, problem with that. (only in certain night clubs that are very picky). but generally acceptable.. :-)

no way. dominicans come in all shades of colors. its also the most beautiful place on earth!! =]

No way!  Santo Domingo is a very tolerant, non-judgemental place.  For example, I'm blond, white, blue-eyed, and lived there for 7 years .  those were the happiest times of my life, i hope to go home(there) very soon...
