According to the myth busters that is not true. Yawn is an involuntary act of the body. They have showed in a program that yawning can not be passed through other people. If you see somebody yawning and it is late or tire you will do it because of an involuntary response of your mind. Its like when you are in a room and people sneeze or scratch them self's you will probably do it also.

yawning when someone else yawns means you are a nice person who feels for others. I think you have to have a real person there. I always yawn when someone around me yawns, but not if I hear them do it on the phone or if I see it on TV
