If im a canadian can i rent an apartment in the states for when i go down and visit?

i live in canada, and im always back and forth from here and the usa.. i was wondering if i can rent an apartment there so i dont have to keep paying for hotels, or if i need a visa/green card to do that

  1. No, you don't need a visa or green card to rent - all you have to be able to do is pay the rent (and of course, there will be a first/last month payment up front, along with a damage deposit). But that means you have to keep close track of your comings and goings so you don't overstay your allowable days.
