If im already 17, and i was born in june of 1991, do i still have to have a permit for 6 months?

because im trying to figure out if i can just take my written test and my driving test in the same day without the bother of having a permit for six months

It differs from state to state, your local DMV can tell you - just give them a call, I don't know which state your residence is so I can't tell you.

Quite a few states have similar systems to each other when it comes to the graduated licensing system, but like I said, each state does it differently, and I don't know which state you live in.

In either event, if you just call your local DMV (Department of Motor Vechicles), they can tell you right away.
