  1. I assume that you are transiting through the US on your way to Nicaragua...hence your question re needing a US visa.  Yes, you will need a US visa when transiting through the US.

  2. Well, you have to get in touch with an embassy or consulate via telephone or a nearby country. Tourist are allowed to come to Nicaragua for a period of 30 days, that can be extended to 90 days. Citizens of the Philippines do not require to have a visa to enter Nicaragua but all tourists (and any non-Nicaraguan citizens) are required to purchase a $5 or $10 Tourist Card when you enter Nicaragua so you can stay the minimum of 30 days (or 90 if you extend your time).

Nicaragua only has 2 embassies/consulates in Asia; One in Taiwan and the other in Japan. I'll give you the info for the one in Taiwan, i think it will be most helpful.

    CONSULATE IN TAIWAN

Salvador Stadthagen - Ambassador  with Consulars Affaires

3F. No. 222-6, Jyi Shyan Road, Lu Chow

    Taipei, Taiwan, R.O.C.

    Tel: (886-2)828-14512 / (886-2)828-14513

    Fax: (886-2)828-14515

    E-mail: icaza@ms13.hinet.net

  3. You do not need a visa to go to Nicaragua, but if you plan to go to the US, you will need a visa for that part of the trip.  You will need to apply for the US visa at the location in which you can demonstrate strong ties (i.e., the Philippines).

  4. i'm confused... what does going to nicaragua have to do with getting a US visa? nicaragua isn't part of the US...
