If im section 8 and..?

im on the list but my mothers list n i wannaget a job do i get it off the books or will that mess up her section 8?

When I worked with Section 8 prospect's all that mattered was the income of those receiving the monies. If they made too much then there were ineligible.  I would speak to the Section 8 authorities where you live. They should give you a hand out with the specifications and the rules. But I would definitely not get a job "off the books" so that you can receive aid from the county, that's not fair!

Just get the job.  If it screws up her section 8 status then she can get a job too.

This may not be a true environment question... it belongs in law and ethics.

In law and ethics you would be counselled to advise your mother to report your earnings, or take you off her section 8. Either of those options would be ethical. Either would be legal.

Taking you off her section 8 might be a bit less so.

If you are contributing to her living costs (you should if you live in her space, eat her food) then you should be seen as a family unit.

Even if you pay her rent on a room, or room and board, she has income offsetting her expenses, and, ethically, should be reported.
