  2. try  a ride in a hot air balloon which will float at the same speed as the wind (but not at 70mph!) It feels like you are standing still and very calm.Is this the effect you were getting at ?

  5. No - if you're travelling at 70mph and the wind is coming towards you at 70mph you have an "impact" speed of 140mph!! If you're travelling AWAY from a 70mph wind at 70mph, it should feel pretty "wind-free"!

  10. I don't think so far anyone has understood your question, it is quite feasable to drive a car at 70 mph into a 70mph wind,

    but in sticking your head out, your head would be running into a 140mph wind, you'd hardly be able to breathe let alone 'keep your head on'.

  11. If that's what you do every day then it's a normal day. Mind you, since it's rare to get 70mph winds I doubt you do it every day so I'd say it would have to be an abnormal day.

  12. in theory yes but its never that simple becuase it is very hard to get the wind in a straight line and in the exact same direction as the car

  13. I would suggest you keep your head in the window or you might lose with those winds speeds.... and at the speed of your car.
