In Canada, recent immigrants (<10 years landed) have a level of unemployment anywhere from 2 to three times the national average. In some particular communities over 2/3rds of households are receiving social benefits and are wholly dependent on welfare. The problem seems to be long lasting in that children of certain groups are following similar patterns of non-assimilation and unemployment. What can be done to remedy this dilemma? More money? Special programs? Deportation? What say you?
