Question:

If in 25 years the ozone hole is no smaller than it is now, will we be allowed to use CFCs again?

Al, they said the cause was CFCs and that there would be a slow but steady closing of the ozone hole - they banned CFCs but the hole is still there. In 25 years the remnants will be long gone - if the ozone hole is still there and still just as big as it is now, that will pretty much conclusively prove that CFCs weren't the cause.

That's pretty darned logical!

  1. The damage has been done..it is not going to repair itself..scientists have established this.  We are keeping the hole from getting any bigger by not using CFCs.  Some damage we do to the earth cannot repair itself..so maybe we should not do it in the first place.
