If in device manager there used to be 2 processors but now is one, what does that mean?

i have a dell PIV dual core machine that was previously showing 2 processors in the device manager but now shows only one, is it normal or what could be the problem? please help

If it is a Intel Processor with Hyper Threading then all you ahve to do is when you restart your computer go into the BIOS and turn the HT back on have you Reset your computers CMOS lately?

Are you sure that it showed two procs in the device manager? A dual core is still only one physical CPU.

From my experience it will only show two -- or multiple -- processors if you physically have a muti cpu motherboard.
