If insane laws were passed?

What if the President, congress and the supreme court all agreed to pass new and insane laws. Laws that don't allow individuals to go outside on certain days of the week. Laws that don't allow individuals to wear the color "blue". Laws that don't allow you to drive Fords on Fridays.

Let's assume that each of these laws is a felony offense, and punishable for prison time, and a 500,000 fine. What if they granted police the authority to arrest people at will, for anything, and detain them without giving them any rights.

What if the government stripped every single American of our rights and freedom?

How would citizens across the country react to this kind of abuse of power? Who would take charge here?

The beautiful thing about congress is that they have a system of checks and balences so that this would never happen. Plus everyone in congress represents a group of people,, ie the senator of california etc... so they rep the best interests of the people they represent. If it was outrages, the citizens of the united states would revolt against the president. THAT IS WHAT THE PRESIDENT WOULD NEVER WANT.

Fortunately, even the hand-picked Supreme Court is coming to it's senses. We have three branches of government AND THE PEOPLE, for a reason.

Judging from taking down terrorists and a plane, once informed, we're liable to fight and die to save others and maintain our freedom. We invented revolution and guerilla warfare.

Given your scenario, a small group would form, then others. Pretty soon, the government would be overwhelmed by sheer numbers. Law is only enforced by mutual agreement, with citizens.

I could manage with the first three laws, but for the ones to arrest anyone for anything at will, I would say f*ck you and I would be having a pig roast after I was done dealing with the cops.

Also, if the government stripped me of my rights and freedoms, I would just laugh because they can tell me I am not free but I am the one with marksmanship training, 12 years of boyscout activities, wilderness survival camp, actual wilderness survival experience, hunting in the wild as experience, and the guns.

So when the people who are enforcing the stripping of rights come along to strip me of them I will just tell them, "Fine, my rights in exchange for my lead." and that is when I start shooting some cops.

That would be against the constitution and stuff. Everyone would have to agree on the laws. The people would probably protest and the stupid laws would be abolished and all the people government branch who approved the laws would get impeached and might get punishment.
