Well, it depends on where you are in London and what you'd like to eat and spend.

As you're dining alone, you might be happiest eating at a bar, at communal tables, or in a smaller venue. Places like Wagamama or Yo! Sushi might fit the bill, as would oyster bars, sushi bars, and anywhere else where you can eat alone without feeling awkward. Gastropubs are also a safe bet.

You might consider the new Malaysian place near Piccadilly Circus - Jom Makan. Food is fresh, fast and reasonably priced, and they make solo diners very welcome.
