I had my Battery checked...Good. Alternator checked...Good. So the only thing I think it might be is my starter or more specifically my solenoid. 99 Nissan Sentra... The guy at AutoZone said I can bring in my starter but I wouldn't even begin to know how to do that. Help Anyone?

  1. get a manual from autozone and see how they say to take it off they are usally only two or a few more bolts holding them up just make sure you check and see if it has shims on it because you will need to reinstall them on there if they do.

  2. 1...have it towed/flat beded to a shop....

2..DIY with help from shop msnual [15 dollars most parts stores]

3,,its not easy...you have a full tool set?..a screwdriver and a hammer will not do it

  3. You need a $15 voltmeter. Then someone can check for 12 volts to the starter motor and solenoid while you're trying to start.

  4. More info needed!

    No click - no crank?

    Click - no crank?

(either of the above try thunking the starter with a hammer - moderate taps while an assistant try's to crank the engine)

    Cranks slow?

  5. Tell us what the symtoms are. What is it not doing?  Do you even have a car?
