  1. Very good observation.

  2. Yes, Catholic teaching has been responsible for a lot of misery for women, and for a lot of unhealthy and unwanted children.

  3. Why would abstinence be a sin if pre-marital s*x is considered a sin??

  4. Don't blame the Pope.

God was the one who made man, and then told him to be fruitful and multiply.

God never changes his mind, either.

So, if that's the case, where did all the other posters get their wacky ideas?

  5. I was told in catholic school that the only birth control is putting a penny between your knees and never letting it go.

You can't even tantilize your own C**t.

    Ridiculous religion.

  6. This is for catholics only ,he wants them to out number the muslems.

  7. Good Point!!!

However, the pope's opinions mean NOTHING to me.  God is my savior, not the pope.

    God Bless.

  8. Abstinence is not a sin because it prevent people from being promiscuous. Birth Control is not a sin. The pope needs to realize that yes it does stop potential life. That's the idea. But why bring a new born Innocent life into the world only to watch them suffer.

  9. The proper place for s*x is within a marriage. To encourage fornication is unBiblical.

  10. If that's what the Pope believes, he should be stuffed and put in a museum of medieval history.

Can't he even grasp the human suffering that such a belief causes?

Think about it... a belief that will not permit abortion under ANY circumstance, but also prohibits s*x education OR birth control.

That is worse than morally repugnant, it's inhuman.

I always suspected that the underlying motive of the "pro-life" stance was to PUNISH, and this makes me just about certain of it.

  11. Because the goal of the Catholic church is rather like third-world farming communities:  Have tons of children, to work on the farm.

Oh.  Wait.  Most Catholics these days are highly-stressed, super-busy normal people with enormous gas, grocery, electric, and mortgage payments to make while living in an increasingly fragmented family structure.

See, a LONG TIME AGO, having lots of kids had many benefits.  They helped you on the farm, populated the earth with people that believe the same thing you do.  Good things.  Now, the Catholic church is out of touch with reality.  Having a huge litter of kids is just irresponsible in a day and age when even the kids need PDAs and the parents can barely make ends meet as is.

And let's not even talk about how overpopulated the world is anyway.

(Random side note, though:  One of the reasons they hold that HORMONAL birth control is wrong--  It does 3 things.  1)  Repress development of an egg, with obvious benefits.  2)  Thicken the cervix membrane that helps keep sperm OUT, just in case the first trick fails.  and 3)  Thin the uterine wall to the point of making implantation impossible, in the event the first two tricks don't work.  In the case of #3, that would technically be a medical abortion.)

  12. Or jacking off? Or menstruation? Those things stop potential life!
