  1. it would be much more than a "million-man" army.... lookup shanghai cooperative organisation... we'd be facing quite an opposition

  2. one news article summed it all up. russians are not as sensitive when it comes to killing as the westerners.

  3. They are very much a match for the Russians. You have to understand that Russians have a lot of equipment, but its no where near as good as ours. The Abrams tank is a prime example. Not one has been destroyed in action. Yes they have been crippled, but not destroyed.

The JSF is more than a match for any plan that Russia could put in the air and Russian ships and subs are less capable.

  4. yeah lol duh

  5. Isn't France a part of NATO? With them on our side, Russia is no match.

  6. haha without a doubt yes

  7. America has the best technology in the military and EU together is just as strong so russia is no match for either of those and especially combined

  8. People of the world, the information, provided by the international mass media is no true. Russia DID NOT ATTACK Georgia!

07.08.2008 at 22:00 Georgia attacked South Ossetia, the troops rolled in.

At 3:30 08.08.2008 tanks of the Georgian armies have entered the city of Tskhinvali, the capital of the South Ossetian Republic

Whole city was shelling by heavy artillery all day long, there were fights with use of tanks and heavy munition, which were used against both ossetic militia and non-combatants.

2000 civillians were killed during Georgian attack.

Russian peacemakers have arrived to South Ossetia in the evening of 08.08.2008 for settlement of the conflict and peace conduction in republic and protection of Russian citizens, living on territory of South Ossetia (approx. 80% of South Ossetian population).

Georgia has attacked South Ossetia on the opening day of 2008 Olympiad, it is top of cruelty and cynicism.

  9. I don't know about currently.

During the Cold War, stated US policy was that the US would respond to a Soviet invasion of western Europe with tactical nuclear weapons.  The USSR stated that they did not acknowledge a difference between tactical and strategic nuclear weapons, and would respond.  Thus was born the MAD (Mutually Assured Destruction) doctrine, and the Soviets stayed behind the Iron Curtain.

I suspect that this is how it would play out, even today.

  10. well just the usa has almost 1.5 million troops and a much superior military.  I pray this never has to be tested as it would be a bloodbath for them and the world.

  11. i'am a russian and we and iran blow israel and US to shrivelreins.

  12. Yes. The size of an army in terms of people is no longer important. It is the technology that they posses.

  13. russians have half the population of a America.we have a million man army also, not including our air force and navy, which by the way is the biggest air force and navy in the world.our marines and soldiers would put the russian army to shame to be honest.

  14. rofl yeaaaaaaa russia would be doomed if they found out about technology america is coming out with and if technology spreads to NATO forces russia would be done for ;) just a thought though

  15. i don't want to find out. remember both sides have nukes.  an m1 abrams Cant stop a nuke idiot. they are not a pushover like iraq was

  16. oh yeah....the georgians only applied for NATO protection because they know it will protect them. but i hope we're not seeing ww3 soon

  17. No.   Numbers can often over come superior technology, and there is a great debate as to which side really has the better technology.

  18. NATO would never attack Russia, no matter what happens with Georgia. Consider this, who are the major members of NATO?. Great Britain, Germany, France, Italy (those that are in Europe). Europe relies on 40% of its oil and gas consumption from Russia. What happens when Russia flicks the switch, shutting-off the flow of oil and gas on the pipelines leading to Europe?. Europeans will be frozen-meat in a matter of four days (with no gas to heat their homes). And not to mention the hundreds of Russian ICBM's that are still pointed at major European cities. Now, would NATO still launch an attack without the participation of its European members?. I don't think so.

Haven't you noticed that only GW Bush condemned the Russian actions?. All the other European leaders (Gordon Brown, Angela Merkel, Nicolas Sarkozy, Silvio Berlusconi, etc.) are conspicuously silent and never dared to condemn Russia?. Well, folks. The reason is obviously clear.

  19. I think a fight like that would be dangerously likely to escalate beyond anything you are prepared to deal with, regardless of which side got the upper hand.

Maybe you think they'd blow a whistle at some point and award a trophy or something?

  20. Well in World War 1 and 2 the world took on the Germans as a Team.  With out a Doubt NATO could take down the Russians.  Just cutting off trade and aid to the Russians could slow them down.  Look at the first gulf war, Iraq had one of the biggest and very combat ready troops and they were ran over with ease by the Forces that went in.  There is not a county on earth that can take on the entire NATO miltary power.  Lets see Britain, France, Germany, the United States and many more.  That is a very strong force to deal with.

  21. people like me would join the nato forces and crush russia, stupid bully russia let georgia have its democracy!
