If it is not possible to chose to believe or disbelieve then do we still get sent to h**l ?

Question

Simply for not doing something that is impossible? Or do we have to lie to ourselves ? Pretend? Does that count?

That seems rather unfair to me.

Better to follow your conscience than to pretend, yet Jesus told us those who reject him on earth shall be rejected in heaven.  It is a clear choice:  if you don't believe after being taught the truth, the lie shall torment you eternally.  Therein is free will writ large.  If you know the consequence and ignore it, you have effectively thrown open the gates of h**l for yourself.

Those who lead good lives, never knowing Jesus' love, are naturally blameless and G-d shall judge them accordingly, I would like to believe.

that is the point of religion their is no real prove that they really exist and this is what God wants to do he want us to believe in him with out any reason and then we will be rewarded on the day of judgement

If you really cared what was going to happen, you would be studying the Bible to prepare yourself.  Why is it impossible for you to believe in God but possible for you to believe in being sent to h**l?  That makes no sense what so ever.  Here is the reality, when you die, you are dead.  Your body goes back to dust and your life spirit goes back to God, since he gave it.  There will be a resurrection of all that lived and all will be judged accordingly.  Those that oppose Christ aren't sent to h**l.  The Bible uses the word Hades, which is just the grave.  You will cease to exist.  No punishment, just gone and forgotten in the world.  The only thing going into the lake is Satan, his false prophet, and death itself.  Jesus must defeat all of God's enemies.  You should really learn things before you cast judgment so fast.

We are here to pass a fairly simple test; find God. To demonstrate to the angels that a being unable to see God is able to find God in the universe. As God is unseen and the distractions of life loom large, power, money, objects, excitement it is not quite the slam dunk we thought it would be when we were all gathered together, before time, and jumped at the chance to test our shiny new free will. God said " I know what you do not". All ignored Him. We each chose our lot here on earth, not in so many words but in principal. We basically chose the path we now live out. God did not subject us to this, we did ourselves. In the end we will take what we have become and face our Maker in a judgment scenario. We will see all that we have done vs all we have given and the total worth of our lives will make us acceptable or not. Jesus Christ will redeem those who believe in him.

But it is possible, one either believes or doesn't. Are you saying that you want to believe but cannot?

If you admire the teachings of the Christ then follow them. Integrate them fully into your life. You don't have to believe all the nonsense that people tell you is necessary, just follow Him.

If you don't agree w/ His teachings then walk away. Why let it bother you?

By not making a decision to repent and follow Yeshua/Jesus, you ARE making a decision to turn away from Him.  Everyone has the opportunity to accept or reject Him.

If you have heard the truth, Jesus Christ crucified, buried, risen, seated at the right hand of the Father as redeemer, advocate, King, and High Priest.  Which You have now heard. You have the freedom to choose truth - life. or the lie - death.

It is all your choice. You cannot pretend. God knows you better than you know yourself. He knows what you have done, are doing, and will do. Not only that He knows why.

This is life and death. Nothing to fool around about.  So many people here joke about this and make fun of it. It is really sad. My heart aches for knowing that whether  you believe it or not This is reality, what you see with your eyes and hear with your ears is temporary, it will pass away. Jesus Christ is eternal He is the truth, the life, He is the way.

Everyone is already destined for h**l...

The choice is not about believing in God or h**l.

It is about loving God and having a relationship with Him.

It is not impossible and you do not have to pretend, to lie to yourself.

There is a living God.

He has made a way for us to come to Him through Jesus Christ.

Only you can enter into this personal Spiritual relationship.

Relationships are built on love and understanding, not fear.

That is your choice.

Don't you think an all-knowing God would know you're just pretending to believe?  And wouldn't an all-powerful God have been able to make you with the capacity to truly believe if he wanted to?

It does seem rather unfair, doesn't it?  And rather illogical as well.  

My thoughts:  This is just another indication that there is no god.

This was actually one of the biggest reasons I struggled with Christianity and finally became an agnostic.

For those who have never heard of God/Jesus etc... how is it possible to be saved? No one was ever able to satisfactorily answer that question for me either.

Faith is a choice we make.  God does not give faith to some and not to others.  We individual weigh the evidence (or lack thereof if you so believe) and make a decision to believe or not to.

The word "h**l" is a translation of the Aramaic word for "grave" for one. it is a recent addition to the Christian Mythology, and there is not one shred of evidence that it is real. And a tonne of literal natural evidences to support that it is just a primitive understanding of plate tectonics.
