Question:

If it is popular to not conform is it truly not conforming?

I wonder this because it seems everyone is embracing the opposite values of those before them in order to be different. If everyone does this to be different, is really justified?

  1. yep most adults realise this and that's why we cringe looking back at how we thought we were rebellious!

  2. If you choose to be a non-conformist like me, then it is best to choose your own culture and get the things that only YOU want.  Have your own interests instead of having the same interests that the general societies have.

    VIVA LA RAZA!

  3. I suppose that it depends on your motive. If you decide to "not conform" just because everyone seems to be doing it, then you are conforming.  But if you are inadvertently not conforming simply because being true to yourself makes you different, then that is truly "not conforming".

  4. its like saying i refuse to answer this question. but i just did.

  5. yes that is conforming,....Hot Topic for example. people shop there because they want to be their own person,....anarchy rules,.....blahblahblah,..someone else is wearing the exact thing as you somewhere else. just be yourself, thats truly being different, because there is no one else like you.

  6. okay, so i've noticed kids all dressing "different" but dressing the same. Does that make sense? Sounds on the line of what you're talking about. I think as long as the person really feels different then i guess it doesn't matter how others view them. I'm pretty sure if you're struggiling to be different in order for acceptance from others, you aren't really being that different.

    Soooo Short story:

I once saw a shirt that said "you're laughing at me because i'm different, I'm laughing at you because you're all the same." I saw this shirt on multiple people... This is where I realized that all i can do is try and be me, and not worry about being different.

  7. depends on your definition on non-conforming

if you see it as being the only individual to going against the grain, then non-conforming never really happens

instead, you need to see it as how someone doesn't conform

like a double or triple non-conform

    1 says "i don't want banana, i'll have strawberry"

2 says "i don't want banana or strawberry, i'll have chocolate"

    so on and so on

if it becomes mre popular to conform to one idea, then this becomes the idea to rebel against

so if more people prefer strawberry to banana then banana becomes the non-conformists choice

at the end of the day, it's best to be ironic and conform, that'll blow everyone's mind

  8. no it isnt.......
