  1. Ugh, no.

  2. Date her?  No way.  I might schtup her, though.

  3. There's evidence to suggest such "dates" did happen.

A 24,000 year of skeleton found in Portugal appears to have both human and Neanderthal characteristics.

"The boy, who was about 4 years old at death, had the prominent chin and other facial characteristics of a fully modern human. But his stocky body and short legs were those of a Neanderthal. Dr. Trinkaus compared the limb proportions with Neanderthal skeletons, including some children. He said he was then sure of the skeleton's implications."

Other remains, found in Romania seem to be that of another hybrid. However:

""It differs from living people only in subtle ways, and always well within the range of modern human variation," Harvati, who led the recent study, told Discovery News.

"It has, for instance, slightly heavier eyebrows than the average person, and is generally somewhat more robust than average," she added, explaining that modern humans have gradually evolved to become more slight and slender than Upper Paleolithic people were. "

At issue is the natural variation in species. A normal human might well have some Neanderthal aspects. I know a colleague that has spectacular brow ridges and recall knowing the student in school that was a twin to a Neanderthal reconstruction.

  4. Because the Neanderthal woman was typically stronger than our best weight lifters, I'd take her to many of those Texas bars I frequented in my early years.  I often needed some help when Bubba & Leroy got crossways with me.  Chuckle, I'd tell em they couldn't even whip my girlfriend, & have another drink while she kicked their butts.

As for the children, they'd make fine NFL linemen as they threw the offensive tackle at the QB.

    Jokes aside:

Ichabodwa presents some of the arguements ongoing between the "Replacement" & "Regional Evolution" of European & Asian Homo Sapiens.  Some genetic information also suggests some interbreeding between Sapien & both neanderthal & erectus in Europe & Asia.  This is known as gene introgression. Several genes are rare in Africa, but common in either Asia or Europe. One gene (MCPH1) is found among 70% of the existing humans, but is very rare in Africa.  Several other genes are either common in Europe or Asia, but rarely found in Africa... I can get back with links if you request them.
