even though they live in 2 different states? even though both of them have morals and are church going people? even though she is almost 15 and he's almost 18?

Im curious. I have a friend who is in this kind of position, and I would like to have opinions of parents/guardians who are outside my family and hers as well.

Any opinions are welcome. =)

  1. my daughter is only 2 and i dread those day....but i dated a guy 3 years older than me and i got knocked up. now i am a teen mom whos struggling to work, go to school and take care of my kid. i have morals when i first met my daughters dad i didnt believe in premarital s*x but he talked me into it. then he left me after lexie was born. when lixies dad and i first met i was 15 and he was 18. I got pregnant when i was 16 and had lexie when i was 17. older guys prey on the young and naive....when my daughter lexie reaches the age of dating i will say NO even if they live in different states. Lexie is my pride and joy and i will do whatever it takes to protect her and im sure that does for all.

  2. NO!

  3. if i had i doughtr i wouldn't allow her to date anyone ....

  4. Whats the point of a 14 year old having a relationship with someone that lives in another state? Whether they both go to church or not an 18 year old has hormones so I WOULD SAY NO

  5. If they really care about eachother then yes I would let them date. Its not that much older really. Some people will tell you its wrong but in actuality ITS NOT! Just watch them real close thats all.

  6. no she is way to young for him. do you want to be a grandma already????

  7. well i kindof have the same problem im only 14....yea but it depends on how much she likes this guy and if it goes wrong she has to learn from her mistakes but whatever the mother thinks is right at the end of the day

  8. They can't "date," it's logistically impossible.  Also, I'm so tired of these young people calling "having the hots for each other" dating!  It's not dating, it's an attraction - mostly physical, and hopefully there's some attraction to each other's minds (yea right :-)

I would say they are welcome to have a "phone date" on certain nights only (give them a schedule) and let them know that they can't converse via the internet until they know each other better.  Keeps it cleaner.  We're mighty bold and forward on email, but we're a bit more restrained and humble over the phone.

  9. Yes I would.  There is just a 3 year age difference.  It could be just "puppy love".  If the guy will be 18 soon he won't want to mess around with someone who is 15!  He will probably want someone closer to his age.  I would just let it go for now.  They live in two separate states so not too much can happen anyway.  This will give the 14 year old a chance to "test the waters" and see what it is like tohave a boyfriend.

  10. Three years is a bit too much of an age difference for teenagers. Plus, you can't really go out at that age if you live in two different states.
