  1. If it were PROVEN ( that is the key here) that the Pres. committed any crime (especially a war crime like violating the Geneva convention guidelines) Congress could start Impeachment hearings. However America works on a checks and balances system. The Pres. may have suggested it but Congress had to approve it. SO......  any Hearings would ultimately lead to the arrest of the Senators and Congressmen who approved the torture. And that is why nothing gets done in Washington.

  2. it has already been proved, the people just refuse to believe the truth.

  3. of course but who's going to do it you?

  4. Things like this are purposefully not brought to the President's attention, just for that reason.

  5. Torture is carried on outside of the Dept. of Justice's jurisdiction.  So not only the President but the "interrogators" cannot be impeached or prosecuted respectively.

  6. It certainly is... international law (designed by the US) has primacy.  The President may disagree but legal principles going back to Magna Carta say that EVERYONE is subject to the law.

In fact Bush is a multiple war criminal, illegal / offensive war, lying about it, treason (outing Valerie Plame and the ME anti-WMD operation run by her CIA unit), torture, disappearances, rendition, imprisonment without trial, suspension of habeas corpus, undermining the US constitution... lining the pockets of his cronies with no bid contracts, failing to ensure security and to rebuild Iraq and Afghanistan...

Putting his military at risk on unwinable wars to cover up his corporate agenda...

He's worse than filth and has dragged his country into the gutter.

IF you believe your military leaders (and on this they are 100% RIGHT) winning 'hearts and minds' is the key to defeating terrorism - you have to ask why Bush's political policy has fatally undermined those military strategic objectives at every opportunity!?

  7. Only if you can quote the US law that was violated and provide credible evidence that your accusations were true.

BTW - why stop with the President?  Using your logic shouldn't you be calling for the arrest of every US service-member who has served at Gitmo?

Or is your question nothing more than political BS?

  8. Curtis, hmmm. It is covered under the human rights act. And because the US goes by the Geneva convention they are to uphold the convention especially when handling those who do not abide by it.

George can't use torture as a means to anything, not legally anyways.

I don't care what he does, if he wants to play it that way then go hard - after all if you need answers...

  9. Will liberals every understand those that tortured our people and mutilated their bodies deserve no consideration. Bush defended this country and authorized what was necessary to prevent another attack within our borders.  If that is wrong then good for him. Watch what happens if Obama makes it to the white house and congress stays in liberal control.  Half the country will freeze to death because they are unable to afford the energy needed and the other half will cower in their basements because of the mobs roaming the streets looking for more free stuff.

  10. I am learning that most of what happens in politics is arbitrary.  According to my personal moral code, that offense would be worthy of punishment.  Whether it would result in impeachment would depend upon if it would be politically expedient for Congress to do so.

  11. Kucintich presented 35 articles of Impeachment to Congress.

It has already been proven!!! So many times over.  The problem is that so many are in denial, because they want to believe the lies so they don't have to face the fact that our government has fallen on the foot steps of evil and hypocrisy.   My God all you have to do it look at how they have miss treated the firefighters who breaved toxic air during the rescue mission during 9/11!!! These brave men are dying and the government isn't doing anything to help them.  They lied and told them the air was not toxic, then the evil lady who lied about this and caused so many to die got away with it scotch free.  Guiliani  stupidly was looked at as a hero as he covered up this disgusting event.  And about impeachment?

Those cowards in Congress are sitting on it. Obama will not impeach, nor will McCain, who use to be an adversary of Bush.   Don't think the Democrats or Republicans make a difference.  Now the same lie they said about going into war with Iraq they are using to go to war with Iran.  Our government once over threw a democractically elected Prime Minister in Iran in 1953, you think they won't do it again?  If we go to war with Iran, this nation will be destroyed economically, morally.  Our dollar will be toilet paper .  Oh the Israelis will be happy that we took care of both their adversaries, the Sadaam and Iran, but you think they will care if this country will go down the tubes because of it?  If we don't impeach, we might as well burn our constitution, because it won't be worst a cent.

  12. Bush has committed several impeachable offenses--including initiating a war under false pretenses.

  13. Bush and his gang should go to jail just because.

our do nothing congress would not impeach Bush for anything. they are all bought and paid for.

the good news is it looks like Bush and Cheney are leaving the country after their term. they both bought land abroad. Cheney in Dubai and Bush in Argentina. Makes you wonder?

  14. no. captured terrorists, without being in a uniformed army, are the same as spies on the field. They should never have gotten as far as Gitmo, they should have been KILLED in the field of battle.

Serious side; the Geneva Convention does not protect terrorists.

  15. No,,,,a captured terrorist without a military uniform or a state flag is not covered under the Geneva Conventions.

  16. "a captured terrorist without a military uniform or a state flag is not covered under the Geneva Conventions."

Not so. Klaus Barbie was found guilty of torturing French resistance fighters & unlawful imprisonment of Jews, amongst his many crimes. At the time, French resistance fighters were indeed called "terrorists" by the n***s.

Even the threat of torture is unlawful - it's called criminal coercion and punishable by a prison sentence.

The catalogue of crimes against humanity committed by the Bush administration is not merely impeachable - he should be handed over to an international court, like the one in the Hague (ICC) to be tried like all the other war criminals. He'll get a fair trial, which is more than can be said for those who have been kidnapped, tortured, and held for years if they were lucky, or simply rendered by the CIA to disappear from the face of the earth if they were not. How many thousands of mistakes have been made, and how many have been tortured to death nobody knows. That's probably another document the CIA will lose when it comes to a trial.

  17. Bush has 35 offenses which he can be impeached for.

    And he will be.
