  1. Take any old or unused medication back to the pharmacy.  They can dispose of them properly.  Do not flush them.  It will contaminate the water supply as the water treatment facilities are not designed to remove such things from the water.

  2. Take them to your local pharmacy and ask them to dispose of them. They usually do it for free, and it keeps them out of the water, and gets them out of your house safely. Teh pharmacy will dispose of them in an environmentally friendly way, and safely. Most places have laws governing how pharmacies are to dispose of their products, so you can rest assured they are being disposed of properly. Some of the worst things to flush down are antibiotics, because water treatment plants NEED bacteria to treat and clean our water, and antibiotics kill the good bacteria the water treatment plants need... anyways, ask your local pharmacy. :)

  3. To prevent children or anyone else from finding them and getting high, if you have a cat and clean a litter box, throw you pills in the bag with the cat p**p. That way, no one would want them!

  4. Return them to the drug store and they will dispose of them properly for you.
